Mission Statement
Our mission to help you succeed in your greenscape vision for a better environment.
Commitment to Quality
Our goal is to grow a quality product for the landscape market. All of our techniques and growing practices are geared to help us achieve that goal.
- Hand selection and transplanting of newly germinated seedlings: to assure proper plant structures and optimal growth in flats that provide air pruning to encourage proper initial root structures.
- Hand selection and transplanting of seedlings into individual larger containers: to assure that only properly structured seedlings are advanced in production and roots have adequate space to grow.
- Wide plant spacing: to insure that our trees have enough room to develop proper head growth, shape, and trunk strength.
- Time-controlled irrigation systems with moisture sensors: to maintain the soil moisture at levels that optimize the overall health, vigor, and growth rate of each species.
- Restrained pruning practices: to thin, correct, and shape in order to achieve a strong limb structure and a well balanced plant.
- Focused growing practices: to produce strong, straight (without staking), tapered trunks, and stable root balls with fibrous roots that radiate laterally and outwardly from the trunk with no deformed circling at any container wall.
- Weed and pest management: to scout routinely and establish low thresholds that help us to maintain clean bed spaces and clean plants.
- Constant monitoring and intervention: to maintain quality.
- Always striving to improve: to test and evaluate everything we do, so that with each trial effort we confirm or improve every growing practice aimed at producing a better product.
Environmental Policies
As suppliers of landscape plants, our products have a very positive impact on the environment of others.
As producers of landscape plants, we also recognize and accept the need for an environmentally responsible and safe environment at our production facility. To this end, our environmental policies strive toward implementing environmentally sensitive practices:
- Reduce water usage: by using electronic controllers with sensors for environmental conditions and soil moisture levels.
- Reduce fertilizer usage: by using more expensive time-release products in quantities significantly lower than liquid or granular products.
- Reduce nitrate intrusion into the groundwater: by not mixing liquid fertilizer into the irrigation water and not broadcasting granular fertilizer.
- Reduce chemical usage: by using natural alternatives and by constant monitoring to allow early intervention minimum usage; use no copper compounds on container walls.
- Reduce energy usage: by greenhouse practices requiring only solar heat.
- Reduce solid waste: by using recycled products in production, and by reusing our agricultural plastics and accepting returns from customers.
Limited Warranty
Living trees that are above ground require constant proper attention. At the nursery we are able to provide this attention, but once tress leave our nursery you must provide this proper attention for them to survive. Our trees are covered by a Limited Warranty:
- We warranty our plants to be true to name.
- Our nursery is inspected by the New York Department of Agriculture and Markets, and is certified to be apparently free of dangerous insects and dangerously contagious plant diseases.
- We warranty our plants to be in good living condition at the time of delivery.
- All other warranties are specifically excluded, including but not limited to the warranty of merchantability or fitness for intended use and any warranty regarding future growth. Our warranty is limited to the 10 day period immediately after delivery. All liability for incidental and consequential damages is excluded from this limited warranty. The following remedy applies and is the exclusive remedy. Limited warranty claims will be resolved by the replacement of defective plants only.
- All orders are accepted and plants delivered subject to crop conditions and could be canceled based on availability.
